4 People that need your encouragement today.

A family member - Words spoken by those who know us best and love us the most are the most powerful. They have the greatest potential for good or harm. (Proverbs 31: 28-29)

A co-worker - Many of our co-workers live tragic lives at home. They smile on the outside, but only to hide the pain on the inside. Build them up. Be liberal with your praise

A stranger - There are more people on earth today then ever before and the majority of them we don’t know. There are people that you will come in contact with that need encouragement just to make it though the day. (1 Peter 4:8-10)

Yourself - We need to hear powerful words of affirmation as much as anybody else. Remember that you have the power over your own thoughts – choose to make them positive. Speak kind words to yourself today and build up your own being and spirit. (Proverbs 18:21)

Encouragement means strengthening others.

One of the greatest weapons against discord and a lack of unity is encouragement. Remember, we have been called to uplift and encourage one another. Encouragement is crucial to EDIFY and NURTURE others. (1 Thessalonians 5:11)

The greatest gift that you could ever give yourself is the satisfaction of encouraging someone else. Be good to yourself by being good to others. Let it be known that YOU are a person of encouragement.

Encouragement > discouragement.

One of the best ways to encourage someone is to NOT discourage them. Some people think that frustrating others will make them try harder, that saying, “You can’t do that” will challenge them to succeed. This is not typically true. (Proverbs 16:21)

The capstone of encouraging others is to actually BELIEVE in them. Believing in someone doesn’t mean that you expect perfection, but that you see potential.
